The Geelong Welsh Ladies Choir is a group of ladies who meet once a week on Wednesdays for 2 hours to rehearse music, some of which is sung in Welsh. Our membership, more than 30 ladies, is inclusive and we welcome all ladies who want to sing. When we can, we have concerts and join in other local events or travel to promote the Welsh culture. We also have social events and have lots of fun.

The repertoire of the choir reflects the diversity of its members. We choose songs from many different musical genre and always include Welsh music as the choir is committed to maintaining its original purpose . However, we sing in other languages too, mainly in English but also Latin, Spanish, Maori and Italian. Our members come from many different backgrounds. Currently we have only two members who were born in Wales, one of whom is Welsh speaking and the other is our Musical Director.

The choir has great fun learning to sing in any language other than English but help is always available to master the words. We have always been praised for our pronunciation of Welsh so come along and have fun singing and learning new things.

We have travelled to Wales and New Zealand to be part of Welsh celebrations and to join in concert with other choirs. Please check our history link to see more details.
